NEW UPDATE 7 P.M. – https://www.liberoreporter.it/2025/02/eng-news/sweden-orebro-school-shooting-death-toll-rises-to-10-including-assailant.html

Update: 4 and not 5 injured, assailant committed suicide. The assailant took his own life and the police warn that no officers were injured

The perpetrator of today’s shooting at a school in Örebro, Sweden, took his own life after injuring four people. This was reported by the newspaper Expressen, citing local police sources, who confirmed that no officers were involved in the attack.

A witness: ‘I saw a lot of blood’. Police on the scene, operations ongoing

Five people were injured in a shooting that took place inside a school in Örebro, a town located about 200 km west of Stockholm. The police, who immediately intervened, asked the public to stay away from the school, while rescue workers transported the injured to local hospitals.

The condition of the victims is still unclear, but local authorities have confirmed that four people are hospitalised. Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer spoke of a ‘very serious’ situation and confirmed that the response operation is still ongoing.

Media images show the school surrounded by police officers, who are busy securing the area and collecting witness statements. The incident comes just a few months after another shooting at a school south of Stockholm, in which a teenager was killed.

Witness account

Andreas Sundling, 28, witnessed the scene from inside the building. ‘I heard bangs, then I saw a lot of blood,’ he told the Expressen newspaper. ‘The school is full of policemen. We are locked in a classroom waiting to be evacuated, they told us to stay where we are and wait.’
