Sweden, Örebro school shooting: death toll rises to 10 including assailant

The assailant, whose identity is not known, took his own life. Police rule out terrorist action

The Swedish police announced that about ten people were killed in the shooting that took place today in Örebro, about 200 km west of Stockholm. The victims included the attacker, who took his own life and was not known to the police.

According to preliminary investigations, the attack was not terrorist in nature and the man acted alone. The authorities have assured that there are no further threats.

Örebro police chief Roberto Eid Forest said that the identification of the victims is still ongoing, without giving details about the exact number of injured. The area remains manned by law enforcement.
