Pyongyang accuses the three countries of “reckless and foolish acts” after denuclearization pledge reaffirmed at Munich Security Conference
North Korea has launched a strong accusation against the United States, Japan and South Korea, calling their statements at the Munich Security Conference “reckless and foolish acts.” The three countries had reaffirmed their commitment to a “complete denuclearization” of North Korea during the summit, but Pyongyang did not take these words well. In a statement released by the Kcna news agency, the North Korean Foreign Ministry warned that any “provocations and threats” by the United States and its allies will meet with an “overwhelming and decisive reaction.”
North Korea also accused Washington of promoting an “outdated and absurd denuclearization plan,” calling the “short-sighted ‘goal’” of the United States as “the height of stupidity that arouses the astonishment of the peoples of the world.” In a clear statement of intent, Pyongyang strongly condemned the U.S. action and reiterated that it will continue to follow the “new line of nuclear force enhancement” as laid out by leader Kim Jong-un.
