Tragedy at Abundant Life Christian School: three dead and six wounded. The shooter, a young student, found dead
Update – A shooting has rocked Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, leaving at least five people dead, including the alleged perpetrator, and five injured. The assailant was reportedly a student at the same school, according to the initial police investigation. The young man was found dead inside the school building, but Madison police chief Shon Barnes confirmed that ‘he was not killed by us’, suggesting that the death may have been due to self-harm.
Among the injured are young students, but no further information about the victims (they appear to be a boy and a teacher) has been released at this time, pending notification of their families. The school involved has 390 students enrolled, ABC News reported.
The news quickly reached the White House, and President Joe Biden was informed of the incident. The shooting once again brings attention to the tragic problem of violence in American schools, raising questions about the safety and prevention of such acts. The authorities continue their investigation to clarify the exact dynamics of the massacre.
