US-based Politico awards the Italian premier for her ability to assert herself on the European and global stage, praising her strong and influential leadership

Giorgia Meloni has been voted ‘the most powerful person in Europe’ for 2025 by the US newspaper Politico. The recognition comes thanks to her ability to influence European and global political dynamics, becoming a key interlocutor for influential personalities such as Elon Musk and world leaders. Politico points out how in less than a decade Meloni has gone from being regarded as an ultra-nationalist figure to becoming a respected prime minister central to Brussels and Washington.

Despite her controversial policies on immigration and LGBTQ+ rights, Meloni has gained respect among EU leaders, who now work with her, accepting her assertive governing style. The Italian PM is seen as a representative of the increasingly radical political spirit that is emerging globally.
